Pixel pitch determines the display effect of a customized LED screen
When we need to customize an LED display, it may no longer be a simple flat panel. Because we can customize any shape based on flexible LED displays and cuttable LED displays, such as spherical, circular, letter-shaped LED displays, and so on. In addition to the shape requirements for customized LED displays, we also need to pay more attention to the display effect. To achieve the ideal display effect at different viewing distances, we must carefully consider the pixel pitch of the LED display.

What is the pixel pitch of an LED display?
An LED display is composed of countless LED lamp beads, and the pixel pitch is the distance between the midpoints of two adjacent beads. Assuming the distance between two LED lamp beads is 1.5 millimeters, we usually denote it as P1.5 (this is industry terminology).
What kind of display looks clearer?
The higher the density of LED lamp beads, the clearer the display effect will be. We can understand that one lamp bead corresponds to one pixel point. For the same area, the more pixel points there are, the clearer the image.
How to choose pixel pitch based on viewing distance?
We explained this in our previous article The Most Suitable Pixel Pitch for Indoor LED Displaysand illustrated it with intuitive images.
Generally, for viewing within 2 meters, choose a pixel pitch of P2.0 or lower. For viewing distances over 5 meters, it is recommended to select P4.0 or higher. And for viewing distances over 10 meters, we suggest choosing a pixel pitch of P6.0 or higher.
Can this method be used for both indoor and outdoor pixel pitches?
Apart from indoor and outdoor environmental factors, the selection of LED display pixel pitch can follow this approach. However, it is particularly important to note that outdoor LED displays need to use lamp beads with higher brightness to cope with strong light environments.
